Take a Risk
This is my first game jam and my first game to be finished. I can’t consider it completely finished but finally game jams are about learning and I learnt a lot from making this game, so I consider this as a success.
You move with WASD or arrows and attack with the space bar (yes, I didn’t have time to show how you move in the game). In this game you play as an adventurer that beats waves of monsters by crashing into them. Beating enemies gives you points, once you get enough points you pass to the next wave and more enemies appear.
The game jam theme less is more is implemented by a mechanic that the lower you HP is, the more points you get by defeating enemies. This encourages you to take risks and on purpose get damage to get points faster and clear the game. The mechanic also makes you see taking damage as a positive thing, and avoids people from escaping from enemies so they never take damage.
